Elementary Clarification:
Students at the elementary level who have been quarantining should continue to do so. Thank you.

Dear BCS Families,
Tomorrow, Friday, October 16th all middle and high school students (grades 7 - 12) will stay home due to a positive COVID case at the high school level. This includes any student who attends an all day program at BOCES. Students should work remotely and can check Google Classroom, email or the Remind app for updates from their teachers. Students at the elementary school should report to school as normal. This involves all students in grades PreK - 6. This closure at the middle/high school is done so out of an abundance of caution and so we can assist our local public health department in the gathering of information. All high school activities will be cancelled on Friday as well. More information will be forthcoming. Thank you.

This year, the Lamoka Log Yearbook Class will be providing a monthly newsletter update with information and events from around the school. Some of the stories in our newsletters will also be highlighted in this year's yearbook.
Please enjoy the first edition of the newsletter: https://brdfrd.com/xb6cc

October 12, 2020
Dear BCS Families,
Yesterday we received notice that (2) students in our District have tested positive for COVID-19. As a result of this positive result we have placed our 6th and 2nd grades in quarantine until October 21, 2020. There were also some additional students in other grade levels who have to be quarantined because of being a close contact on a school bus or at other times during the school day.
Each student/family impacted by this situation has been, or is in the process of being contacted directly by the school. The Steuben County Department of Health will also be reaching out to these families.
In working closely with the Steuben County Department of Health we have determined that all other students and grade levels not directly affected by this situation can report to school as scheduled on Tuesday, October 13th. If you have not been contacted directly by the District please send your child to school tomorrow.
Students who have to quarantine will be provided their instruction remotely and will be contacted by their teachers. The district will be providing devices and hotspots to these students as needed.
Please know that all proper safety protocols were followed by the District and this has helped to minimize the impact of this situation. Our building has also been thoroughly cleaned since this past Friday.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the school for information. Health related questions can be directed to our school nurse, Mrs. Miller, and general questions can be directed to our principal, Mrs. Ellison.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Yours in education,
John Marshall
Superintendent

Please be advised all Bradford/Dundee soccer contests this weekend against Marcus Whitman have been postponed and will be rescheduled later this season. The away cross country meet in Waterloo is still scheduled to take place on Saturday. Thank you.

We are disappointed to announce that tonight's soccer match between the Bradford/Dundee varsity girls' soccer team and Marcus Whitman has been postponed due to a COVID related issue involving our opponent. This game we will rescheduled for later in the season.

Due to limited spectator capacity at our sporting events, we have created a stream available to the community to watch the game live. View tonight's game at https://ideas.gstboces.org/bradford/sports.cfm. Go Braves!

You might have received a COVID P-EBT food benefits card for your student recently. Please read the attached update from the district explaining the purpose for this benefit card.

Emergency Go Home Early Drill:
The Bradford Central School District will be conducting its annual go home drill on Friday, October 9th. The middle/high school will be dismissed at 2:50pm and each elementary classroom will dismiss (15) minutes earlier than its regularly scheduled time.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
Please see the most up-to-date guidance from the New York State Department of Health pertaining to COVID-19 and a child's ability to attend school. This document will replace any previously shared documents by either the NYSDoH or a local public health agency. If you have any questions please contact our school nurse, Mrs. Miller, at Kmiller@bradfordcsd,org or by calling (607) 583-4616. Thank you.

And we are off....good luck to all Bradford/Dundee athletes and coaches.

We're excited for high school sports to begin! Please read the following update from Mr. Marshall.

We are in need of substitute teachers. If you are interested please call the main office for an application and more information.

Attached below is a letter outlining how the Bradford Central School District would operate in the event of brief or extended school closing. If our District ever had to be closed unexpectedly we would share this information with families and staff in the same manner we do for snow days. This letter can also be found on the District website under the School Reopening link.

Last school year, the district requested your input to determine the availability of internet for all student homes. As the district continues to ensure that all students have reliable access to the internet, we are requesting that any student household that has limited or no internet service please complete this brief follow-up survey. If you already have internet service, you do not need to complete this survey. While conditions remain positive in our area and school district, we want to be as prepared as possible in the event we have to shift over to a remote learning model. Thank you for your response. https://brdfrd.com/hldkl
