New Yorkers can now take free online courses through Coursera. In partnership with Coursera, we launched a free online platform for New Yorkers to learn new job skills, earn certificates and advance their careers. At a time when unemployment has risen due to the pandemic, we hope these online courses will help New Yorkers get back on their feet. So, whether you're unemployed, underemployed, or are simply interested in learning new skills, check it out and sign up.

We can't underestimate the strain of COVID fatigue. Mental health is just as important as physical health. New Yorkers can call the State's mental health hotline at 1-844-863-9314 for free emotional support, consultations & referrals to a provider or visit the Office of Mental Health for resources.

The difference between remote and in-person student learning is HUGE. Let us all be diligent in our actions so our students can come to school each and every day.

The end of October is here and the much anticipated Halloween is at the end of this week. 🎃 This year, it is our intention to maintain the positive and fun spirit of this event. Students are allowed to wear appropriate costumes on Friday, October 30. The costume should not interfere with learning and the ability to attend classes (be able to sit at a desk, etc... ). Students should plan to wear their costumes during the course of the day. Students will not have the opportunity to change into a costume at school. The costume must not obstruct with the student’s duties and responsibilities of learning. The dress code applies to all costumes. While students are not required to wear costumes on Halloween, those students who do wish to participate are reminded of the following guidelines: Face painting should be applied at home and should be minimally applied so that students’ faces are recognizable. Costumes may not mock another student, faculty member, race, religious or lifestyle preference. Costume accessories that are deemed dangerous or similar to weaponry are not permitted. Full face masks or any item that will impede vision are not allowed. Blow up costumes are not allowed. Finally, all costumes should maintain the integrity of our school dress code. Please understand that these guidelines are put in place to ensure the safety of all our students. If a student’s costume is found to be inappropriate, they will be asked to remove the costume. Wearing a costume is considered a school privilege. Sadly, this year due to Covid restrictions we will not be having a school wide parade. Our yearbook staff will be taking pictures and posting them to our website and social media pages for all to enjoy.

COVID-19 Update - October 16, 2020
Elementary Clarification: Students at the elementary level who have been quarantining should continue to do so. Thank you.

Dear BCS Families, Tomorrow, Friday, October 16th all middle and high school students (grades 7 - 12) will stay home due to a positive COVID case at the high school level. This includes any student who attends an all day program at BOCES. Students should work remotely and can check Google Classroom, email or the Remind app for updates from their teachers. Students at the elementary school should report to school as normal. This involves all students in grades PreK - 6. This closure at the middle/high school is done so out of an abundance of caution and so we can assist our local public health department in the gathering of information. All high school activities will be cancelled on Friday as well. More information will be forthcoming. Thank you.
