Please read the following COVID-19 update from Superintendent John Marshall

Dear BCS Parents/Guardians,
As we begin to focus on the return to school from our holiday break, I wanted to remind everyone of the importance of screening for COVID symptoms before sending your child to school. If your child is displaying symptoms, do not just assume they have a cold. Please keep your child home and get in touch with our school nurse. We have plenty of rapid tests which we can use to either rule out, or detect the COVID virus. Let's make sure we do everything we can to keep people safe, infection rates down and our school open for in-person learning. Go Braves!
John Marshall
Superintendent

Happy New Year BCS! Let’s keep building on all of our recent success. We have soaring graduation rates, increased proficiency on state assessments, a blossoming athletic partnership, enhanced facilities and most importantly, strong support from our community, families, staff and students. 2022 is going to be an amazing year for us!

Dear BCS Families:
This week, Governor Kathy Hochul identified a statewide goal of having as many students as possible tested for COVID-19 as school resumes this coming Monday, January 3, 2022. To accomplish this, the state will be providing testing kits to accommodate every single student. The testing kits will be shipped to our local BOCES, sometime this week or next, who will then distributed these to each school district. We will ultimately be responsible for placing these test kits in the hands of our families.
The Governor is asking that these tests be supplied as soon as possible to families. We plan to distribute our allotted tests the first week back after the holiday break. Details on test distribution to families will be forthcoming. The exact date ultimately depends on when our shipment is received from the state.
To be clear, there is no requirement that families test their children with these kits, but the state is encouraging families to do so. The choice is ultimately yours.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that we create the safest school environment for all students to learn, grow and succeed.
John Marshall
Superintendent

Thank you, Mrs. Miller, for everything you have done the past (2) years during this incredibly challenging period of time. Your care for our students and support of our district and community has meant so much to so many. A heartfelt thank you to all nurses, doctors, paramedics and other health care providers, everywhere this holiday season.

Santa took time out of his busy schedule to stop by BCS this morning. Thank you to the Bradford Volunteer Fire Department for helping to make this special moment possible.

Today from 12:30-1:30 PM the Bradford Central School District will be handing out at-home COVID-19 test kits free of charge. We have approximately 90 kits at our disposal and they will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.

Dear BCS Families,
On Tuesday, January 4, 2022 the Bradford Central School District will begin offering the Test to Stay program to our students. Information about this program is listed in the attached letter. This same letter will be given to each student tomorrow at the end of the school day. Thank you.

Hopefully there are some backpacks under the tree this coming Saturday morning...

They say a picture is worth a thousand words…in this particular case we have no idea what those words would be.

Love seeing kids just be kids.

Attention Parents of Seniors!
There are still some seniors who have not turned in their senior photos, baby photos, senior information, or all of the above to the yearbook staff. This information must be submitted via the applicable forms found on the yearbook website: http://brdfrd.com/lamoka-log
Specifically, seniors can navigate to this page on the site which provides all of the deadlines: https://sites.google.com/bradfordcsd.org/lamoka-log-yearbook/seniors.
If these items are not submitted by January 21, 2022, we will not be able to guarantee that your choice of photos or information will be included in the yearbook. This is a firm deadline as we need to continue moving forward with the production of the yearbook and must fill these pages in order to meet other critical deadlines.
If you need your photo taken for your senior page, please reach out to a yearbook advisor by email at yearbook@bradfordcsd.org to schedule your photo. If you have any questions, you can also email us at that address.

Thank you to everyone who completed and returned the Digital Equity survey sent home in the mail. Your participation will be helpful in giving our District representation in our continued effort to close the technology divide in our homes and region.

Upcoming Vaccine Clinic

Dear BCS Families,
The Bradford Ski Club will once again be functioning this school year. Sign-ups for this club are taking place right now. Students can sign up in the front office through Friday, December 17th.
We are looking to offer skiing on the following dates...
January 16th, 23rd, 30th and February 6th. A bus will leave the school at approximately 2:00pm and should return around 9:30pm.
*If a student cannot attend on one of these dates they can use their pass on a different date.
The cost of ski club is as follows...
4 ski passes $109
4 ski rentals $58 (if needed)
4 meal vouchers $40 (if desired)
The school is responsible for collecting the money for each student and then we will make one total payment to Swain. Passes will be distributed to students the first time they go to Swain.
Payment will be accepted in the front office between Monday, December 20th and Friday, January 7th.
Mrs. Monell and Ms. Grant are serving as our club advisors this school year. Thank you.

Congratulations Gabe, Mayson and Nick on successfully completing your Level 1 Logging Chainsaw Training course at BOCES. If we ever need to tell a tree we’ll know who to call.

The BCS Fitness Center is opening today.

Wishing all of you a happy, hearty and safe Thanksgiving with your family and friends. We will see you again on Monday, albeit, a little bit rounder than before we left.

The Bradford CSD Fitness Center will once again be open to the public beginning Monday, November 29th. The center will be open from 4:30-6:30pm on Monday and Wednesday of each week. If the school is closed on one of these days the center will not open. The school hallways will also be available
to community members who would like to walk. You must be (18) years of age to use the center and a liability waiver needs to be signed. Please remember masks must be worn at all times when inside the school building. Happy walking, running and lifting.
